Are you a confident graduate who feels ready to take on more responsibility than a traditional Teaching Assistant role?
Could you turn your subject knowledge into engaging lessons and command the attention of a secondary classroom?
Want to gain genuine teaching experience before progressing towards Qualified Teacher Status?
KPI Education is recruiting ambitious graduates to join a successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Watford as Graduate Unqualified Teachers.
This opportunity is designed for graduates who already have teaching firmly on their radar and want to accelerate their classroom experience.
Rather than spending the year purely supporting lessons, you'll be developed towards planning, delivering and leading lessons yourself, with guidance from experienced teachers and subject leaders.
Based in Watford, this ambitious secondary school combines strong academic expectations with a supportive approach to developing staff.
The school recognises that excellent teachers aren't created overnight.
You'll initially spend time observing strong classroom practitioners, understanding behaviour expectations and learning how successful lessons are structured.
As you develop, so will your responsibility.
You could progress from supporting individual pupils and small groups to delivering sections of lessons, providing classroom cover and eventually taking responsibility for planned lessons under the guidance of qualified teachers.
For a graduate serious about teaching, this offers something a conventional TA position simply cannot: the opportunity to start developing your own classroom practice.
Applications are particularly encouraged from graduates in:
Mathematics | English | Biology | Chemistry | Physics | History | Geography | Languages | Computer Science | Business | Economics
A 2:1 or First-Class degree is highly desirable, alongside strong subject knowledge and a good academic background.
Previous school experience is advantageous but not essential.
More importantly, you'll need to be confident, articulate, resilient and comfortable taking responsibility. You should be able to explain challenging ideas clearly while building positive professional relationships with young people.
If you already know that teaching could be your career, don't spend a year simply watching from the sidelines.
