Job summary

AECOM’s Transportation Advisory, Consultancy and Research team in the UK delivers research and consultancy to transform knowledge into policy and practice. You will contribute to qualitative and quantitative research, data analysis and the development of technical reports and dashboards.

The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder engagement and the exploration of AI-enabled approaches within transport projects. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 2:1 classification or above.
• A Master’s or PhD in a related field would be advantageous.
• Strong technical understanding of research and data analysis.
• Willing to work towards chartership with the relevant institution.
• Good MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
• Ability to source, review, collate and analyse information and interpret results.
• Effective written and verbal communication with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
• Data analysis and dashboard development.
• Analyse transport, road safety and infrastructure data to identify trends and inform recommendations.
• Develop technical reports, strategies, guidance, standards and client deliverables.
• Conduct literature reviews and evidence gathering to support objectives.
• Engage with stakeholders through workshops, interviews and consultations.
• Contribute to innovative approaches including AI applications.
• Support trials and research projects such as driving simulator studies.
• Assist with highway asset management studies, lifecycle planning and costing.
• Present findings clearly to project teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet timescales, quality and budgets.
