Job description

At InPost, we're redefining convenience. From smart lockers and industry-leading technology to the people, processes and operations that keep millions of parcels moving, we're changing how people send, collect and receive parcels - and we're doing it at speed. Behind every successful delivery is an operation that works smarter, faster and more efficiently.

We’re looking for an ambitious, curious and analytical graduate who wants to get stuck into real engineering challenges, use data to solve problems and make a tangible impact across our growing parcel network.

As a Graduate Trainee Process Engineering Manager, you won’t be watching from the sidelines. From day one, you’ll work alongside our Network Operations leadership team, helping to understand performance, improve processes and build the systems that allow our operation to perform at its best.

This is an opportunity to take what you’ve learned through your engineering degree and apply it to real-world challenges – with the scale, pace and complexity of one of the UK’s fastest-growing logistics and technology businesses.

Why Join InPost?

As a Graduate Trainee Process Engineering Manager, you’ll work on real projects from day one, using data and engineering thinking to identify opportunities, develop solutions and see your ideas put into practice.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Engineer the Operation – work with Network Operations leaders to understand how our processes work, where performance can be improved and how we can operate more efficiently.
  • Own the Data – analyse operational and productivity data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Build Better Systems – support the development of productivity management systems and reporting that give operational leaders the insight they need to make better decisions.
  • Dare to Disrupt – challenge existing processes and ways of working, using an engineering mindset to identify smarter, more efficient solutions.
  • Solve Real Problems – investigate operational challenges, understand root causes and help develop practical solutions that can be implemented across the network.
  • Think Commercially – understand how productivity, efficiency and process improvements translate into cost savings and better operational performance.
  • Communicate Your Thinking – turn complex analysis into clear reports, recommendations and presentations that can be understood and acted upon by stakeholders.
  • Win Together – collaborate with Network Operations and wider teams to turn ideas into improvements that work in the real world.
  • Make It Happen – take ownership of your projects, manage your own agenda and turn analysis into action.

Have a minimum 2:1 degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

You’ll need to have graduated within the last three years in 2026, 2025 or 2024.

Have a full UK driving licence & willing to travel between operational locations and work away from home when required.

Are confident working with data and have a strong analytical mindset.

Enjoy solving problems, understanding root causes and developing practical solutions.

Communicate clearly and confidently through reports, presentations and collaboration.

Take initiative, manage your own workload and stay organised.

Are curious, eager to learn and willing to challenge existing ways of working.

Work well with different teams and stakeholders and enjoy turning ideas into action.

We’d also love to see:
  • Experience or an interest in process engineering, continuous improvement, Lean, operational excellence or logistics.
  • Experience with data analysis, Excel, Power BI or other analytical tools.
  • An interest in financial analysis, productivity or cost management.
  • Experience working on university, placement or personal projects where you’ve used data to solve a problem or improve a process.

Don’t tick every box? Don’t worry. We’re looking for potential, curiosity and the willingness to learn.

Why InPost?

You’ll be part of a team that is fast-paced, methodical, structured, collaborative, pragmatic, fun, innovative and entrepreneurial. Work with experienced leaders across the operation and have the opportunity to see your work implemented across a live logistics network.

The people who thrive here are resilient, positive and self-starting. You’ll need to be comfortable managing your own agenda, taking initiative and getting stuck into problems rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Over two years, you’ll:
  • Gain hands‑on experience in process engineering and operational improvement.
  • Build your technical, analytical and commercial skills.
  • Work alongside experienced Network Operations leaders and gain exposure to a growing logistics network.
  • Take ownership of projects with visible business impact.
  • Develop your understanding of productivity, efficiency and cost.

Challenge existing ways of working and Dare to Disrupt.

Take responsibility, Own It and Win Together.

Build the skills and experience to progress your career in process engineering, continuous improvement or operations.

This isn’t a graduate programme where you’ll watch from the sidelines. You’ll have real responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to make a visible difference and build a career at InPost.

At InPost, we love uniqueness. Our strength is our people. We strive to create an open, equal, inclusive environment in which everyone has the opportunity to flourish and be themselves.
