Graduate Trainee Accountant

A well-established and growing accountancy practice is seeking a Graduate Trainee Accountant to join its Trowbridge office. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to begin a career in accountancy while working towards a professional ACA or ACCA qualification within a supportive and progressive environment.

The Role

As a Graduate Trainee Accountant, you will receive structured training and mentorship while gaining exposure across accounts preparation, audit, tax and general practice work.

This is a genuinely varied role designed to help you develop into a well-rounded accounting professional, providing insight into multiple areas of practice rather than specialising too early.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for a range of businesses.


• Supporting audit assignments and fieldwork.


• Preparing personal and business tax returns.


• Assisting with bookkeeping and management accounts.


• Preparing working papers and supporting schedules.


• Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.


• Supporting senior team members on a variety of client assignments.


• Developing knowledge of accounting standards, tax legislation and audit procedures.


• Building professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Previous accountancy practice experience is not required, although internships, placements or relevant work experience would be advantageous.
