Vivid Resourcing Ltd invites applications for a Graduate Planner/Assistant Planner in Birmingham. This role offers a route to develop under experienced Directors and Senior Planners within a growing planning consultancy, handling a varied UK portfolio.

You will gain exposure to all stages of the planning process, build technical knowledge, and take on increasing responsibility as your career progresses, with structured development towards MRTPI.

Qualifications

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Ideally RTPI accredited, or working towards RTPI membership.
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career within the private-sector planning consultancy market.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and submission of planning applications across multiple sectors.
• Conduct planning policy research and review local/national policies.
• Prepare planning appraisals, reports and supporting documentation.
• Support senior colleagues with planning strategies and client advice.
• Carry out site visits and assess development opportunities.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, clients and consultants.
• Monitor applications and keep clients updated on progress.
• Support preparation of planning appeals and representations as required.
• Develop understanding of planning legislation, policy and procedures.
