Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join our established team. You will prepare planning applications, conduct site appraisals and develop strategies across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and regeneration schemes.

Senior candidates may lead projects, manage client relationships and contribute to team growth while enjoying flexible hybrid working and opportunities for chartership progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in town planning, ideally within a private-sector consultancy.
• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
• Experience preparing planning applications and providing planning policy advice.
• Strong written communication, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and manage planning applications and appeals.
• Undertake site appraisals, planning policy reviews and development feasibility assessments.
• Develop planning strategies for residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration schemes.
• Prepare planning statements, reports, representations and supporting documentation.
• Provide planning advice to developers, landowners, housebuilders and other key clients.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Support strategic land promotion and development plan representations.
• Manage project deadlines, budgets and deliverables where appropriate.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and planning discussions.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development activities.

The Role

The business is looking to appoint a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join its Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planning professional to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting clients throughout the planning process and helping deliver successful development outcomes.

You will be involved in preparing and managing planning applications, undertaking site appraisals, developing planning strategies and providing commercially focused advice to clients.

For candidates operating at Senior Town Planner level, there will be opportunities to take ownership of projects, manage client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
