Job Description

Reporting to the Group Manager (Parking Services), you will be part of a team that delivers an effective parking service for Glasgow.

1. You will assist in designing major parking control schemes and minor parking restriction measures, managing the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process, overseeing works programmes, enforcing existing on-road parking restrictions and bus priority measures, and managing and maintaining the city's parking assets.
2. You must be able to produce reports, collate performance monitoring data, liaise with external contractors and other bodies, and meet project deadlines within budget.
3. You should be capable of providing technical advice, responding to correspondence from the public and elected members, and attending site meetings or public exhibitions as needed.
4. Minimum qualifications include an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline, along with good communication skills, proficient IT skills, and a valid UK driving license.
5. The role requires the ability to attend meetings outside standard office hours.
6. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with KEYLines software within AutoCAD is desirable.
7. Note: If invited for an interview, an AutoCAD test lasting approximately 10 minutes will be part of the scoring process.
8. Previous experience in a roads, traffic, or road safety environment, report writing, works planning, budget control, and knowledge of UK roads and traffic legislation are desirable.
9. This position offers hybrid working, requiring staff to attend the office at least 60% of the time over a 10-day period.
