Teaching Personnel's Graduate Teaching Programme offers graduates hands-on classroom experience, training on the job and a clear route to Qualified Teacher Status in a secondary school.

You’ll learn from experienced teachers, plan and deliver lessons, support diverse students and receive structured guidance as you build your teaching career.

This paid training role lets you earn while you train and develop the skills needed to become a qualified teacher.

If you’re considering a career in teaching, our Graduate Teaching Programme gives you the opportunity to gain practical classroom experience, train on the job and work towards becoming a qualified teacher.

You’ll be based in a secondary school, gaining hands‑on experience while being supported throughout your training. It’s a chance to learn the job properly, develop your teaching skills and build a career in education.

As a trainee teacher, you’ll:

• Work in a secondary school alongside experienced teachers
• Develop your teaching and classroom management skills
• Plan and deliver lessons as your training progresses
• Support students across different abilities and year groups
• Learn how to create positive and effective learning environments
• Receive guidance and feedback from experienced teaching staff
• Take part in structured training alongside your school-based experience
• Work towards gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

This programme is ideal for graduates who want to become teachers and are ready to gain real experience in the classroom.

You could be a recent graduate, currently working in another sector, or already have some experience working with young people.
