GSL Education are offering a brilliant opportunity for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sunderland. This role is ideal for recent graduates keen to develop their skills and make a meaningful impact on young learners’ education.
Why This Role?
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside experienced teachers to support pupils academically and personally, helping to shape their learning journey in a supportive school environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Assisting teachers in delivering exciting and engaging lessons.
Providing one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils reach their learning goals.
Supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an inclusive classroom setting.
Helping with literacy, numeracy, and social development interventions.
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers.
Assisting with classroom organisation and behaviour management.
Building positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
What We’re Looking For:
️ A degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
️ Experience working with children in education, childcare, or mentoring roles is desirable.
️ A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners.
️ Strong communication skills to engage with pupils and staff.
️ Patience, resilience, and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
️ A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and development.
️ An up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps).
️ An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
