Targetjobs UK is working with a large all-through academy in Edgware to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils across all year groups, including those with Special Educational Needs.
The role involves supporting individual and group work, leading small groups in English, Maths, phonics and reading, assisting with assessments, preparing resources, and helping with break times and extra-curricular activities.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils working at all levels, including children with Special Educational Needs within a class or across a year group.
This large all-through academy is based in Edgware, with good local transport links and is a popular choice for families in the local area. In this specially designed building, pupils have the opportunity to grow and develop with facilities specifically designed for younger children, but with the benefits of the resources of the attached secondary academy. There is a strong leadership team in place within the primary academy, and staff and pupils enjoy a smaller, community atmosphere. There are good opportunities for professional development across the academy including teacher training so this is a great option for graduates and those looking to further their career in education.
All Graduate Teaching Assistant roles are offered on an academic year contract from September 2025 to July 2026. There will be opportunities after this contract for outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistants to continue with the school into the following academic year to complete their initial teacher training via the paid SCITT programme.
