Graduate Teaching Assistant - September Start
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025

Are you a recent graduate with a background in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a core academic subject? Are you looking to gain valuable experience in the education sector while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and eager to develop their skills in a classroom setting, particularly within an SEN environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

  • Assisting class teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.

  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.

  • Promoting independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing among pupils.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, English, Maths, Science or a related subject (or is due to graduate this summer).

  • Has a genuine interest in working with children with additional needs.

  • Is confident, patient, and adaptable in a school setting.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is looking to build a career in education, teaching, or child development.
