Job summary

WSP seeks a Graduate Structural Engineer to join the Building Structures team, working with experienced engineers, architects and multidisciplinary teams on landmark projects. You’ll develop technical knowledge, design skills and understanding of safe, efficient, resilient structures from concept through construction.

The two-year Graduate Development Programme offers structured learning, mentoring and hands-on experience, with routes toward Chartered status.

Qualifications

• You will have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Property & Buildings and Industry | WSP.
• You will be looking to start work in September 2027.
• You will be interested in building design, structural engineering, sustainable construction, materials, digital modelling or how buildings are designed and delivered.
• You will be curious, analytical and motivated to solve technical design challenges that shape safe, practical and resilient building structures.
• You will be comfortable collaborating with others, sharing ideas and learning from different specialists across project teams.
• You will be keen to learn, take ownership, broaden your skillset and create value for clients, communities and building users.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural calculations and prepare drawings and BIM models.
• Review design information and attend coordination meetings.
• Support site activity and learn how materials such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry are used in practice.
• Develop understanding of safe, efficient and resilient building structures.
