Job summary

Amey is seeking a Graduate Bridges and Civil Structures Engineer in London. You’ll contribute to challenging projects across the UK, working with experienced teams and gaining hands-on experience from investigation through detailed design and asset management.

You’ll develop practical skills in structural analysis, 3D modelling and carbon/cost estimation while supporting inspections and digital solutions, in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1).
• Interest in bridges / civil structures.
• Commitment to sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an experienced team, working on exciting UK and international projects.
• Develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures from investigation to design and asset management.
• Undertake structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models and drawings.
• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations and monitoring of works.
• Contribute to data, analytics and digital technology solutions.

Our bridges and civil structures team work across a range of sectors including transportation, water and energy. Our clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, Welsh Government, Department for Infrastructure, MOW Bahamas, Local Authorities and D&B Contractors. We have multiple long-term contracts and continue to grow and expand into new regions and markets. Recent / ongoing projects include:

What you’ll be doing

• Be part of an experienced team, working on some of the most exciting and challenging projects across the UK and internationally.
• Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
• Undertake structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.
• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works
• Contribute to the development and implementation of world-class data, analytics and digital technology solutions.
