Job summary

Amey is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our Bridges and Civil Structures team in Bristol. You will contribute to exciting projects from day one, learning from industry experts and supporting design, assessment and asset management activities across the UK.

The role focuses on developing practical, sustainable solutions, performing structural analysis and creating 3D models, drawings and technical documents while gaining exposure to international projects and advanced digital tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Civil or Structural Engineering – (Minimum Grade 2:1).
• Interest in bridges / civil structures.
• Commitment to sustainable development.

About The Team

Our bridges and civil structures team work across a range of sectors including transportation, water and energy. Our clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, Welsh Government, Department for Infrastructure, MOW Bahamas, Local Authorities and D&B Contractors. We have multiple long-term contracts and continue to grow and expand into new regions and markets. Recent / ongoing projects include:

• National Highways Scheme Delivery Frameworks
• Severn Bridges Specialist Bridge Inspection and Maintenance
• Bahamas Glass Windows Bridge replacement
• Network Rail TransPennine Route Upgrade
• ADEPT Live Labs 2 Decarbonisation programme
• A66 Northern Trans-Pennine upgrade design
• Transport for London Infrastructure Improvement Framework

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Bridges and Civil Structures Graduate you will:

• Be part of an experienced team, working on some of the most exciting and challenging projects across the UK and internationally.
• Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
• Undertake structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.
• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works
• Contribute to the development and implementation of world‑class data, analytics and digital technology solutions.
