Description

Job title: Graduate Submarines Structural Engineer

Location: Barrow (Cumbria)
We offer relocation support packages for this role, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-5days per week.

Salary: £34,000 + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

What you’ll be doing:
• You’ll join an exciting team who work throughout the whole submarine life cycle, from concept through to activities with the operational fleet.
• Supporting the Structural Design of Submarines.
• Outfit design – including sheet metal, deck coverings, furniture, and fittings, to ensure a habitable submarine environment.
• Designing equipment to withstand shock and dynamic movements of the submarine whilst in operation.
• Lifting Arrangement Design and oversight of submarine movements
• Structural and Stress Analysis.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant STEM subject, Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
