Canonical is seeking 2025/2026 graduates for remote software engineering roles with occasional in-person sprints and mentoring. You will write high quality code in Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript or Java and contribute to developer tooling and CLI projects.

Fresh graduates with a STEM degree, Linux experience, and strong English are encouraged to apply. Global, distributed teams collaborate across Linux domains from BIOS to desktops.

Qualifications

• Exceptional academic record with an undergraduate degree in a STEM field.
• Experience with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript or Java.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work in a distributed team.
• Personal projects in technology and software engineering beyond the curriculum.

About the role

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems. This role is for 2025 and 2026 graduate software engineers joining engineering teams worldwide, working from home with some in-person team sprints and mentoring.
