Job summary

EDW Technology is recruiting a Graduate Software Developer to join a cross-functional engineering team. You will learn from experienced engineers while contributing to the design, development, and support of our products.

You’ll work on large-scale enterprise software powering the UK energy market, gaining hands-on experience from day one and building a long-term career in a growing technology business.

Qualifications

• Degree (or expected degree) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM subject.
• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and object-oriented development.
• Exposure to Java or another object-oriented programming language.
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality software using Java and SQL.
• Build and enhance APIs, business services, and user-facing applications.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, analysts, and product specialists.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices.
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure software quality.
• Investigate and resolve defects and operational issues.
• Gain exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud and container technologies.
• Contribute to large-scale projects supporting the UK's evolving energy market.
