We are Trismik, an early-stage startup spinning out of Cambridge University developing adversarial tests for Large Language Models (LLMs). Our mission is to provide the fastest and most accurate testing environment to add the highest value to AI engineers deploying AI applications using LLMs. We aim to help companies and researchers push forward the state-of-the-art in Artificial Intelligence and achieve the best possible chance of human-aligned AGI.

We are seeking an early career Graduate Software Engineer to help us build our Python LLM evaluation library, working closely with the Engineering and Science teams. We are open to remote hiring within the UK.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role as one of our first hires. You will influence our software and product roadmap, engage with users and customers to foster platform adoption, and have a significant role in shaping our technology.

Key job responsibilities

As a foundational team member, you will work directly with the CTO, leading the development of our open-source Python tools, and engaging with the community. The ideal candidate is passionate about software and AI, with experience in LLMs, open source contributions, or personal projects. Your duties include:

  • Develop and maintain our Python open-source evaluation library;
  • Engage with the community via GitHub and other channels, addressing bugs and documenting to promote platform adoption;
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Science teams to implement features and metrics;
  • Ensure platform security and performance standards are met;
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code following best practices;
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap and strategic planning.

You should be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, creative, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (graduating autumn 2025 or already obtained) in Computer Science, AI, or equivalent experience;
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, deployment, testing, and operational excellence;
  • Strong proficiency in Python.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Torch, Hugging Face) or data analysis platforms (e.g., Pandas);
  • Contributions to open-source projects;
  • Experience in community engagement projects;
  • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies.

Our Offer

  • Competitive salary, bonus, and share options;
  • Company-issued laptop;
  • Flexible/remote work environment. Based in Cambridge/London, but open to outstanding remote candidates within the UK or EU. Travel allowances provided for meetups.
