Job Description:

We are Trismik, an early-stage startup spinning out of Cambridge University developing adversarial tests for Large Language Models (LLMs). Our mission is to provide the fastest and most accurate testing environment to add the highest value to AI engineers wishing to deploy AI applications using LLMs. We aim to help companies and researchers push the frontiers of AI and achieve human-aligned AGI.

We are seeking an early career Graduate Software Engineer to assist in building our Python LLM evaluation library, working closely with the Engineering and Science teams. Remote work within the UK is welcomed.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role as one of our first hires. You will influence our software and product roadmaps, engage with users and customers to promote platform adoption, and work directly with the CTO and our technical teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development of our open source Python evaluation library.
• Engaging with the community via GitHub and other channels, resolving bugs, and documenting to foster adoption.
• Collaborating with Engineering and Science teams to implement features and metrics.
• Ensuring platform security and performance standards.
• Writing high-quality, well-tested code following best practices.
• Contributing to strategic planning and technical roadmap development.

Ideal candidates are self-starters, comfortable with ambiguity, creative, detail-oriented, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Passion for AI and software development is essential, with experience in LLMs, open source contributions, or personal projects preferred.

Essential qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or expected graduation autumn 2025) in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
• Knowledge of full software development lifecycle, coding standards, software architecture, source control, testing, and operational excellence.
• Strong proficiency in Python.

Desirable qualifications:

• Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Torch, Hugging Face) or data analysis platforms (e.g., Pandas).
• Open source project experience.
• Community engagement experience.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile practices.
