Job summary

INDEDU is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming secondary school in Leicester (LE2). Start ASAP. This full-time, long-term role provides 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN, helping their academic, social and emotional development.

You will collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to implement learning plans, encourage confidence and independence, and foster an inclusive classroom environment. DBS check is required, with potential for progression.

Qualifications

• 2:1 or above degree in a relevant field
• Confident working with children and young people with SEN
• Patient, calm and supportive approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passionate about helping young people reach their potential
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Considering a future career in education, SEN or teaching
• DBS check required for this position

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN.
• Support students with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Assist students with additional learning needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers and the school's SEN team to support individual learning plans.
• Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence and engagement.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt communication and approach to meet individual student needs
