Pertemps Education Network is seeking a Graduate SEMH, Autism & Disadvantaged Children Support Assistant in the Bracknell/Wokingham area. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH, autism, and other learning needs, helping them access learning and develop emotional wellbeing.

The role offers full-time term-time working with comprehensive training and mentoring. A Psychology or Criminology background is preferred, and training will be provided to support career paths in

Qualifications

  • A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related subject.
  • Passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Interest in mental health, SEND, safeguarding, or youth work.
  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils within the classroom and throughout the school day.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring sessions.
  • Work alongside teachers, SEN professionals, therapists, and parents.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
