Job summary

Smile Education is looking for a Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils' academic and social development in a Leicester secondary school. The role involves working closely with SEN pupils and collaborating with teachers to help boost pupils’ learning.

The successful candidate will be a graduate in psychology or a related subject, empathetic to the needs of students, and capable of delivering tailored academic support. The position starts in August/September 2026 and is a full-time, term-time role.

Qualifications

Graduate TA/Teaching Assistant

• Working with SEN pupils and those that need academic support due to low ability
• Based in South Leicester
• Full time, term time position – Starts Aug/Sept 2026
• Previous experience of working with or supporting young people is a real advantage

Smile Education are currently working with a school in South Leicester that require additional Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils who need extra support and development in school. As with all schools there are a range of needs including social, emotional, physical and academic.

The school require enthusiastic graduates to work in their area of strength, be that with special needs pupils or offering a high degree of academic tutoring.

Working in a secondary setting you will be tasked with supporting a range of pupils in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with the school’s class teachers as well as their learning support department to ensure that all pupils are working to their full potential and are being well cared for.
