Job summary

Leeds Secondary Schools is seeking a Graduate Science Learning Mentor to join the science department in Leeds. You will support students across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, delivering targeted academic support and helping raise attainment.

This full-time, term-time role starts November 2026, with pay up to £560 per week. Ideal for graduates considering PGCE or a career in science teaching; you will learn from experienced teachers and gain classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum 2:1 degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering or related STEM subject.
• Strong subject knowledge across at least one Science discipline and ability to convey concepts clearly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support students and work with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted support across Biology, Chemistry and Physics to KS3/GCSE and possibly A-Level students.
• Lead small-group and one-to-one intervention sessions.
• Help pupils understand scientific concepts, improve problem-solving and exam preparation.
