Job summary

AECOM invites graduates to join the Rail Mechanical Engineering team in Glasgow. You will be enrolled on the Graduate Development Programme, contributing to mechanical systems for rail infrastructure and gaining exposure to multidisciplinary projects.

You will work on design, calculations and assessments across stations, depots and rail networks, with opportunities to develop toward chartership and a rewarding career in transportation engineering.

Qualifications

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering with 2:1 or above.
• MEng in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
• Rail and Mechanical Engineering interest and a track record of learning.
• Willingness to work toward chartership with IMechE.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing mechanical systems for rail facilities.
• Support development of HVAC, ventilation, cooling, fire life safety, drainage and building services.
• Perform engineering calculations, assessments and design studies.
• Support site surveys and condition assessments for asset strategies.
• Use BIM tools to produce drawings, models and documentation.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, structural, signalling and telecoms teams.
