Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Rotherham. You will contribute to rail and infrastructure projects, develop technical expertise, and gain hands-on project experience while building a long-term career beside experienced professionals.

The role offers training and mentoring, support towards professional qualifications, and a clear path for progression within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Understanding of core engineering principles.
Good communication, organisation and IT skills.
Interest in rail infrastructure and engineering design.
Experience with civil/rail/infrastructure projects and CAD/engineering design software is advantageous.
Right to work in the UK.
Full UK driving licence.
Live within commutable distance to Rotherham office.

Responsibilities

Assist with civil and structural designs for rail infrastructure projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
Produce and review drawings, ensuring compliance with standards and Eurocodes.
Support design coordination, technical reviews and project submissions.
Attend site visits, surveys and inspections as required.
Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Contribute to delivering projects on time, within budget and to required quality.
