Job summary

Arup, based in Birmingham, is offering a graduate opportunity within the Rail Civils team. You will contribute to real rail infrastructure projects, learn from experienced engineers and build a foundation for a rewarding career.

You will collaborate across disciplines, develop design calculations, and apply standards while delivering work within budgets and timescales. A degree in Civil/Structural/Railway Eng and a trainee mindset are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Railway Engineering or related field.
Ability to apply engineering judgement to project work; work independently with support; quality outputs; willingness to learn; team collaboration.
CAD/BIM; use of AI; understanding railway systems/assets.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver coordinated solutions.
Prepare high-quality design calculations and drawings with appropriate support.
Apply relevant design standards and quality processes to produce robust outputs.
Organise and deliver work within agreed budgets and timescales, flagging changes early.
Communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
