Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join its UK-wide Groundworks and Civil Engineering team. You will support the Quantity Surveying Team by managing commercial elements across the project lifecycle, focusing on cost control, value for money and contract compliance.

Candidate should be a recent Quantity Surveying graduate with strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), good analytical ability, and a practical, methodical approach.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a Quantity Surveying degree.
• Strong IT skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
• Practical, methodical approach with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure as part of a team and independently.
• Willing to travel to sites across the UK and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.

The company is a Groundworks and Civil Engineering company operating as a sub-contractor for most of the major and regional housebuilders, as well as other market sectors.

THE ROLE:

Working within the Quantity Surveying Team to manage all commercial elements throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimise costs and enhance value for money

Achieve the required standards and quality in accordance with contract and client expectations.

Ensuring contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified and addressed.

Cost planning and contract engagement

Sourcing specified materials based on cost & quality.

Attend progress meetings to respond to commercial matters raised.

Ongoing liaison with site team, supply chain and Clients' representatives

Support and advise the project manager in respect of fulfilment of all contractual obligations.

YOU:

Recently graduated with a Quantity Surveying degree.

Competent IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook

Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.

Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to work under pressure as part of a team and individually

Willing to travel to sites throughout the UK.

Valid UK Driving Licence
