Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our UK-wide utility and infrastructure projects team, based in Glasgow. You will support the commercial team and assist the Quantity Surveyors who estimate and control costs across construction projects, coordinating with internal colleagues and subcontractors at each stage.

The role offers progression in a fast-paced, ambitious business, with responsibilities spanning cost control, valuations, change management and contract

Qualifications

• Minimum 2.2 Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Good IT skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good organisation, time management and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, commitment, and flexibility.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with subcontractor payments and cost control.
• Support, negotiate and manage commercial aspects of projects.
• Assessing subcontractor performance and forecasting.
• Prepare valuations, reports and variations on a monthly basis.
• Assist with contract administration, change control and risk management.

Utility Infrastructure – Power Transmission and Distribution

Our team of power transmission Infrastructure specialists design, build and maintain critical power infrastructure for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.

The Role

Day to day, you will support the commercial team and you will assist the Quantity Surveyors who estimate and control costs for our construction projects, working with both internal colleagues and subcontractors at every stage of the project.
