Job summary

adi Group in Rushden is seeking a motivated Junior Project Engineer to support the delivery of process engineering, pipework and mechanical projects, with hands-on experience from site surveys through to installation and handover.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers to develop technical knowledge, project coordination and long-term career within engineering.

Qualifications

• A degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Interest in oil and gas, petrochemical, energy or process engineering environments.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of engineering principles and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to safe working practices.
• Good IT skills and flexibility to work across office and site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing engineering drawings, PFDs, P&IDs and technical specifications.
• Support project planning, procurement, quotations and supplier coordination.
• Attend site surveys and assist with technical documentation and drawing updates.
• Help coordinate site activities, materials and subcontractors to meet project deadlines.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quality and key milestones.
• Support health and safety documentation, risk assessments and site compliance.
• Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning and project handover documentation.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, engineers and site teams.
