This is the job

We’re looking for a recent graduate who has completed a degree with a 2.1 or above in Mathematics, Actuarial, Economics or Statistical content to join the team as a Pricing Analyst, assisting with all pricing analysis activities.

You will support the enhancement of enrichment data and testing of new data sources for pricing models, assist the Pricing Managers and Analysts with data processing and report creation and develop your understanding of Insurance broker pricing to support projects that deliver best-practice pricing.

What will I be doing?

  • Ingest, curate and maintain existing and new data sources within the existing data framework in Azure and Databricks.
  • Run regular reporting to support the understanding of customer behaviour and outcomes. Deliver updates to the business verbally and in written communication to support strong decision making.
  • Seeking and identifying opportunities to improve model performance through new data items or analytical techniques.
  • Develop your understanding of new modelling techniques through machine learning and cloud computing in order to support projects that deliver best-practice pricing.
  • Support the testing and deployment of new rating in conjunction with IT and change teams.
  • Assist the Pricing Manager in managing implementation such as model deployment and price testing.
  • Ensure Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is embedded in the culture of the AA to deliver the six customer outcomes of right culture, right information, right delivery, right targeting, right advice, and right post sales treatment.

What do I need?

  • Demonstrated programming and modelling skills, ideally in SQL, Python, R, Shiny, Streamlit, PySpark, etc.
  • Experience or understanding of cloud computing benefits and the parallelization of modelling and data processes.
  • Currently pursuing or holding a Graduate Degree or higher in a numerical discipline with high academic achievement.
  • Strong interest in pricing and numerical analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Highly motivated individual with the passion and energy to drive continuous business improvement.
