Job summary

Gladman Developments in Congleton, Cheshire, is offering a superb opportunity for a graduate (or near completion) of an RTPI accredited degree to begin a planning career within our in-house team. We also welcome Human Geography graduates who can pursue a part-time Master’s in Planning.

As a Graduate Planner you will support the planning team through site progression, Local Plan processes and the preparation of planning evidence.

Qualifications

• Education to degree level on an accredited RTPI course or a Human Geography graduate with clear motivation to study a part‑time Master’s in Planning
• Strong research abilities with problem solving and initiative
• Good IT literacy
• Excellent communication and organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workload
• Adaptable and creative in response to change
• Keen to learn and develop with experience
• Team player in an inclusive, collaborative workplace
• Experience with GIS, Photoshop, AutoCAD or Illustrator is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Undertaking research to support planning applications and promoting sites to Local Planning Authorities, including 5YHLS, settlement analysis and policy analysis
• Evaluating planning prospects of potential development sites with the Land team and site appraisal processes
• Master planning and assisting in site design
• Attending meetings with prospective landowners and agents to secure sites
• Monitoring planning applications and changes in local and national policy
• Supporting representations to Local or Neighbourhood Plan consultations
• Administration of company data held on Local Authorities
