Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Lancaster is seeking a Graduate Planner to join a busy team. You will handle a range of planning applications for strategic and immediate sites, contributing to policy work, development management, and delivery.

Key responsibilities include assessing opportunities, advising internally, preparing applications, attending meetings, and ensuring timely submissions. A degree in Planning or Real Estate with RTPI/RICS accreditation is preferred, along with strong communication

Qualifications

• Degree/Masters in Planning or Real Estate with RTPI or RICS accreditation (or eligible).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive and able to take the lead with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Positive, professional attitude; confident with colleagues at all levels.
• Full driving licence.

As a Graduate Planner, you will be part of a small yet busy team, handling a varied range of planning applications for both strategic and immediate sites, of varying scales and complexity. The role offers a broad area of responsibility for all areas of the development process including planning policy and promotional work along with detailed development management and delivery.

What you’ll do as Graduate Planner

• Assessing land development opportunities against company criteria
• Providing advice internally on planning matters
• Preparing and submitting planning applications
• Attending meetings with all relevant parties during the planning process
• Dealing with ongoing planning matters and submitting information to clear planning conditions

What experience, qualifications and skills are we looking for?

• Degree/Masters Planning or Real Estate Degree with RTPI or RICS accreditation and a rounded knowledge of planning (we would also welcome applicants with a relevant degree without RTPI/RICS accreditation)
• Strong interpersonal and all round excellent communication skills
• Proactive and willingness to take the lead on own initiative and under minimal supervision
• A proven ability to work to, thrive on and meet tight deadlines
• Your positive outlook and professional attitude will enable you to deal confidently with colleagues at all levels
• Full driving licence
