Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a qualified nurse to administer patient care within a hospital or inpatient/observation setting, providing active treatment for injuries, illnesses, or medical conditions, along with assessment duties.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Administers bedside patient care under supervision, including assessment, care planning, and evaluation of patient progress.
- Respects diversity and builds respectful relationships with team members and patients.
- Acts as an advocate for patients and their families.
- Provides age-appropriate care, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills.
- Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or nurse clinician as needed.
- Collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams for effective patient management.
- Models professional behavior, supporting hospital and nursing goals.
- Uses knowledge of growth and development to assess and meet patient needs.
- Coordinates patient care and delegates tasks appropriately.
- Documents care accurately, meeting all regulatory standards.
- Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and equipment use.
- Prioritizes patient care based on Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
- Identifies and resolves problems effectively.
- Communicates patient condition and unit concerns to team members.
- Provides compassionate, caring practices, respecting legal and patients' rights.
- Supports onboarding and professional development of staff and students.
- Maintains regular attendance in accordance with policies and standards.
- Ensures compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education/Training
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Authorized by the Alabama Board of Nursing as a Graduate Nurse with a "Graduate Nurse" letter.
- Eligible to take the NCLEX exam.
- Meets all competency requirements for Orlando Health and the specific department.
Licensure/Certification
- Must obtain RN licensure in Alabama or through NLC within three months of employment.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC may be required depending on the unit.
