Job summary

Academics in London is seeking a Graduate Mentor to support students in Years 7–9 with mentoring, behavioural and pastoral guidance and classroom assistance.

The successful candidate will become a positive role model, set clear boundaries, and help students stay focused and engaged at school. The role involves collaboration with teachers and pastoral staff and may include supporting sports and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate with excellent interpersonal skills and energy to motivate young people.
• Willingness to work in a secondary school environment.
• Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries with students.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring.
• Supporting students with behaviour, engagement and motivation.
• Working predominantly with students in Years 7, 8 and 9.
• Supporting students within lessons when required.
• Helping students remain focused and engaged with their learning.
• Building positive and professional relationships with students.
• Encouraging confidence, resilience and positive behaviour.
• Acting as a consistent and positive role model.
• Supporting students with their organisation and approach to school.
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff.
• Potentially supporting sporting and extracurricular activities.
