Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Milton Keynes is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop and test new products for automotive, scientific, pharmaceutical, electronics, oil and gas sectors. You will work on customised automation and chiller and air products, create concept designs, and prepare detailed drawings for prototype testing.

The role requires a minimum 2.1 in Mechanical Engineering, experience with CAD SolidWorks, and ability to travel to European customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in design/manufacturing with CAD SolidWorks.
• Experience in managing projects and working in a team.
• Willingness to travel to European customers.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Review requests for customised automation, chiller and air products from sales to ensure specification is clear and viable.
• Create concept designs of customised existing products to meet customer requests.
• Create detailed parts drawings for prototype testing with designer.
• Carry out testing of pneumatic products.
• Ensure timely completion of own projects.
• Provide technical product support to European subsidiaries.
• Visit customers to determine technical requirements for special products.
• Participate in market research activities and provide technical support concerning directives and standards relevant to pneumatic products.

Skills required:

• Experience of managing projects.
• Experience of working in a design or manufacturing environment and CAD Solidworks and some 'hands on' experience, ideally 6 months or more.
• A knowledge of FEA, Thermodynamics or Fluid Dynamics.
• Experience in writing technical reports.
• Ability to work as part of a multicultural team.
• Able to travel to European customers when required.
• Relevant experience.

PC skills: minimum MS Word and Excel.

Excellent spoken and written English.
