Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK invites applications for a Graduate Engineer (Mechanical) at the Padeswood site, starting this autumn. The programme provides hands-on experience in cement production, process operations, and continuous improvement.

You will learn across departments with mentoring and structured training, aiming to develop into a future leader. A Mechanical Engineering degree and UK eligibility are required, with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated in 2026 or be graduating in 2027 and expected to achieve a 2:1 in Mechanical Engineering.
• British citizenship or UK settled status.
• Full UK driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the cement making process and related production skills.
• Participate in process operations and management activities, including kiln and cement mill operation.
• Assist in monitoring downtime, reporting KPIs and proposing improvements for efficiency and cost reductions.
• Liaise with various departments and suppliers to ensure operations targets are met and safety standards are followed.
