Job summary

Orano Limited in Abingdon is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to develop concept designs into detailed solutions, create 3D models and 2D drawings to BS8888, and collaborate across disciplines.

You will undertake mechanical calculations, produce engineering specifications, and visit sites (international travel) as projects require, working closely with senior engineers in a safety‑conscious nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and develop concept designs into viable solutions from concept to detail.
• Produce 2D detail drawings compliant with BS8888.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and clients on mechanical systems.
• Prepare engineering specifications and technical documentation.
• Perform mechanical calculations and analyses.
• Support seniors and engineers in design reviews and audits.
• Engage in site visits (international travel depending on project).
• Apply British and international design standards and codes in work.
