Job summary

Amentum is offering a Materials Graduate Programme in Birchwood Park (with some travel). The role of Graduate Material Scientist starts in September 2027 and includes permanent contract subject to programme completion.

You will work in nuclear laboratories and with teams analyzing structural components, developing materials behaviour for reactor applications, and gaining diverse lab and desk-based experience.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant subject.
• Permanent right to work in the UK.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work in nuclear laboratories and with teams analyzing key structural components.
• Develop understanding of materials behavior (physical, mechanical, environmental) for plant applications in fission and fusion reactors.
• Apply knowledge to component conditions and contribute to projects in lab and desk-based settings.
