The Portfolio Group are recruiting a Graduate Litigation Executive to join a busy Employment Law team in Hinckley. You will support case management from early conciliation through to resolution, handling simple ET matters under supervision.

Ideal candidates are LPC graduates with an Employment Law elective, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to learning, with a clear pathway for professional progression within a growing practice.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings and submissions to set out legal arguments clearly.
• Manage interlocutory matters and prepare court bundles in line with tribunal rules.
• Represent clients in early conciliation and attend ET preliminary hearings as needed.
• Provide clear advisory support to business owners on tribunal risks and strategy.
• Negotiate settlements and draft formal settlement agreements for clients.
• Identify potential case risks early and follow departmental procedures.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify consultancy revenue opportunities.

Sitting within a busy, highly established team, this office-based role offers the perfect environment to transition your academic knowledge into practical expertise.

You will guide corporate clients through the complexities of Employment Tribunal claims, managing cases from early conciliation through to resolution.

The Role & Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Graduate Litigation Executive, you will handle office-based representation and case management for a variety of Employment Tribunal (ET) matters. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Pleadings & Arguments: Drafting and entering robust pleadings, ensuring all relevant legal arguments are clearly presented.
• Case Preparation: Managing interlocutory matters in accordance with tribunal rules, including handling document disclosure and meticulously preparing court bundles.
• Advocacy & Representation: Effectively representing clients in early conciliation matters and attending ET preliminary hearings as required.
• Client Advisory: Providing clear, appropriate advice to business owners regarding tribunal risks and maintaining strong, proactive communication.
• Settlement Negotiations: Evaluating case merits, negotiating settlements, and drafting formal settlement agreements on behalf of clients.
• Risk Management: Following strict departmental operating procedures and identifying potential case risks ("red flags") early.
• Commercial Support: Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for additional consultancy revenue and hit lead-generation targets.

• Qualifications: An LPC graduation (or equivalent professional legal qualification).
• Knowledge: A demonstrable, keen interest in Employment Law (such as choosing an Employment Law module or elective during your studies).
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to maintain strong working relationships with staff and corporate clients.
• Drive: A positive attitude toward continuous learning, active participation in internal training days, and excellent time-management skills.
