Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is partnering with a supportive mainstream primary school in Brixton to recruit a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to help pupils with SEN.

You will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, assist with autism and speech and language needs, and help learners access the curriculum under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Psychology, Education, Sociology or Child Development.
• Genuine interest in SEN and inclusive education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience with children or individuals with additional needs is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties and developmental delays.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and engage with the primary curriculum.
• Implement personalised learning strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to promote confidence and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support pupil progress.

Pay: £108.35 per day

• Motivated to develop practical skills and pursue a career working with children.
