Job summary

Pertemps Education Network, in partnership with a Brixton primary school, is seeking a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to help pupils with additional needs. Located in Streatham/South London, this full-time, term-time role starts ASAP and offers daily pay of £108.35.

You will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, assist children with ASC, ADHD and language delays, and collaborate with teachers to enable access to the primary curriculum.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate in Psychology, Education, Sociology or Child Development.
• Interest in SEN, autism and inclusive education.
• Patient, nurturing, empathetic and proactive.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support children with ASC, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and developmental delays.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and engage with the primary curriculum.
• Implement personalised learning strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to promote confidence and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support pupil progress.

• A recent graduate in Psychology, Education, Sociology or Child Development.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience working with children or individuals with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
• Motivated to develop practical skills and pursue a career working with children.
