Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children and young people?
Are you looking to build experience in a specialist setting, working with pupils who face barriers to learning related to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are recruiting for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school that provides tailored support to children and young people with behavioural challenges, mental health needs, and associated learning difficulties. This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday, term-time only), offering a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference while gaining valuable experience for careers in education, psychology, social care, or youth work.
Support individual students and small groups with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and academic engagement.
Work under the guidance of teaching staff and the pastoral team to implement bespoke support strategies.
Build positive relationships with pupils to foster trust and resilience.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Help deliver tailored activities that promote self-esteem, communication, and personal development.
A recent graduate (e.g. Psychology, Criminology, Education, Youth Work, or related field).
Confident, calm, and resilient when faced with challenging behaviour.
A natural rapport builder with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable young people.
Eager to learn and adaptable to the needs of a dynamic school setting.
Previous experience supporting children or young people (in school, youth work, mentoring or care settings) is desirable but not essential.
A structured temporary-to-permanent opportunity.
