Job summary

Harris Rainham Sixth Form in Rainham, England, is seeking a Graduate Learning Mentor to support individuals and groups to access learning and contribute to a purposeful, nurturing environment.

The actual salary for this role will be £28,067 - £29,752 (37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year).

Deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress, provide feedback, liaise with parents and staff, and help students prepare for exams.

Qualifications

• Qualifications to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience of working directly with young people in education or training.
• Experience in maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience of managing one's own workload.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions through 1:1 and small-group sessions.
• Support students to achieve academic, progression and examination targets.
• Monitor, track and record student progress and attainment.
• Provide clear marking, feedback and guidance for improvement.
• Liaise with parents, carers and subject leaders regarding progress and attendance.
• Use behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful learning environment.
• Work with teachers to identify and support individual learning needs.
• Monitor student engagement and provide feedback on participation and progress.
• Support students during lessons to access learning and achieve objectives.
• Plan support activities and prepare resources with teaching staff.
• Support students during tutor time, homework clubs and other academy activities.
• Assist the wider class as appropriate.
• Invigilate examinations and act as reader/scribe when required.
• Analyse student performance data and implement targeted interventions.
• Prepare students for examinations and assessments.
• Support the wider work and development of the academy.
