SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, is looking for a Graduate Laboratory Technician in Middlesbrough. You will join an environmental laboratory that supports safety, compliance, and sustainability projects across oil & gas and related sectors.

Your responsibilities include preparing and analysing samples, operating lab instruments, recording results in LIMS, and delivering high-quality data on time.

Qualificações

• An interest in science, chemistry, environmental testing, or laboratory operations.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to accurately prepare, measure, and analyse samples.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Confidence using computer systems and entering data accurately.
• Flexible attitude in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science, Maths, and English.

Responsabilidades

Job Description

Join a busy, fast-paced environmental laboratory where your work helps customers make important decisions about environmental safety, compliance, and sustainability. You'll be analysing a wide variety of samples from sectors including oil & gas, environmental monitoring, industrial processes, and utulitiesensuring accurate results are delivered to clients on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and analysing environmental samples, including water, soil, waste, and oil & gas related materials.

The ideal candidate will have:

• An interest in science, chemistry, environmental testing, or laboratory operations.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Confidence using computer systems and entering data accurately.
• A flexible attitude and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science, Maths, and English.

While not essential, it would be beneficial if you have:

• Previous experience working within a laboratory environment.
• Experience working within a UKAS-accredited laboratory.
• Exposure to environmental, petrochemical, oil & gas, water, waste, or industrial testing services.
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or similar laboratory software.
