Job summary

Wolviston Management Services, recruiting for Tioxide Materials Ltd, invites a graduate Instrument Engineer to join the Greatham site. You will work under experienced engineers on instrumentation, control and automation in a complex chemical plant.

The role begins on a 3-month contract with potential extension and hands‑on experience across lifecycle activities from specification through to reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Instrumentation, Control & Automation Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Understanding of instrumentation and control engineering principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering information accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude toward learning and development.
• Willingness to spend time on plant gaining practical experience.
• Commitment to safety, engineering standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support specification, installation, maintenance and testing of industrial instrumentation.
• Gain practical experience with pressure, temperature, flow and level measurement and control valves.
• Assist fault investigations, root cause analysis and reliability improvements.
• Develop understanding of DCS/ PLC systems (DeltaV, MOD300, Siemens, PI Vision).
• Support instrumentation activities for CAPEX projects, plant modifications and commissioning.
• Prepare instrument data sheets, specifications and drawings.
• Gain exposure to Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and functional safety.
• Assist with MOC processes, risk assessments and process safety activities.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and contractors to improve reliability.
