Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for an experienced Workshop Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor to join the Site Engineering team at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool. This is a hands‑on supervisory role with responsibility for the safe and effective day‑to‑day management of mechanical repair, overhaul, refurbishment and workshop assembly activities.
The successful candidate will supervise workshop personnel and contractors while coordinating the repair and refurbishment of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, valves, agitators, heat exchangers, rotating equipment and associated mechanical components. The role will also coordinate workshop‑based electrical and instrumentation support where required.
You should have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, together with at least five years' experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment refurbishment or engineering workshop activities within an industrial environment.
Previous supervisory experience within a maintenance, repair or engineering workshop is essential.
You will need strong practical knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, valves and mechanical systems, along with experience of equipment overhaul and refurbishment, engineering drawings, specifications, maintenance standards, inspection and testing requirements.
Experience within a chemical, process, heavy manufacturing or Upper Tier COMAH environment would be particularly advantageous.
An HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, SAP Plant Maintenance experience, shutdown experience, E&I maintenance knowledge and knowledge of condition monitoring or reliability improvement techniques would also be beneficial
