Job Title: Graduate Health & Safety Officer
  • Location: Manchester
  • 20 days Holidays
  • 40 hours, Monday - Friday
Job Introduction

Are you passionate about health, safety, and environmental management? Sodexo Health and Care is seeking a Health & Safety Graduate to support our team across Manchester University Foundations Trust. You'll work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to implement safety strategies, assist with risk assessments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and positively impact the wellbeing of staff, patients, and visitors.

What You'll Do:
  • Support the operation and promotion of an integrated management system focused on environmental, health, and safety across operational teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo management system policies, including risk assessments, accident prevention, and safety initiatives.
  • Maintain and manage environmental health, safety, and wellbeing through audits, inspections, and setting high safety standards.
  • Conduct audits every 6 months to ensure compliance with Sodexo Integrated Audit Management System for Healthcare contracts.
  • Report on food safety audit performance and participate in management review meetings to identify improvements.
  • Advise managers on environmental and health & safety matters, promoting best practices and legal compliance.
  • Assist with operational technical training and promote health & safety awareness, ensuring standards in food safety, pest control, and hygiene.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring effective communication with clients, Sodexo HSE team, subcontractors, and customers to meet expectations and compliance.
What You Bring:
  • Interest in developing a career in Health & Safety
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, including factual report writing
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Experience in soft FM safety management
