Job summary

Sweco UK Ltd is recruiting a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team within the Infrastructure and Environment Division. This two-year scheme offers hands-on project experience across feasibility, ground investigations, design and construction support.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, gain mentoring, and develop technical, commercial and professional skills while contributing to projects for energy, infrastructure and development sectors in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree relevant to the role.
• Less than 12 months of relevant work experience (placements excluded).
• Confident using Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
• Driven, proactive and solution-oriented.
• Can work in the UK without restrictions; permanent role with long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Work as an integral member of a close-knit geotechnical team.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams across feasibility to construction.
• Assist planning and supervision of ground investigations and site visits.
• Gather and interpret data from field and lab investigations.
• Use engineering software to model geotechnical behaviour and design solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation with recommendations.
• Assist with design of earthworks, foundations and slopes.
• Support supervision of earthworks during construction.
• Develop technical and professional skills through mentoring and varied projects.
