Job summary

Leonardo invites graduates to join its 18‑month Graduate Programme at Edinburgh or Newcastle. You will develop firmware for FPGA-based systems, work with cross‑functional teams, and gain exposure to design verification, testing, and integration across avionics projects.

A starting salary of £34,000 plus welcome and exit bonuses is offered, with potential TAA eligibility. You will spend several days on site, engage in requirements analysis, design, implementation, and validation, and have

Qualifications

• 2:2 Bachelor’s Integrated Master’s degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics or related field.
• Desire to work with FPGA, firmware, and hardware.
• Security clearance BPSS requirements and willingness to undergo vetting.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design, development and verification of FPGA firmware and digital systems.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software and Electronics engineers for integration.
• Develop test plans and simulation environments to verify designs meet functional and timing requirements.
• Present design solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Be prepared for possible travel within the UK.
