Job summary

Sweco UK Ltd is recruiting a Graduate Fire Engineer to join its Building Standards Division as part of the Autumn 2027 Early Careers Graduate Scheme. You will work across the UK on diverse projects delivering strategic fire safety guidance from concept through construction, supported by a senior Fire Engineering team.

The role offers a two-year blended learning program with mentoring, masterclasses, and opportunities to pursue professional accreditation, culminating in a permanent position with

Qualifications

• Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for.
• Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
• Are confident using Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.
• Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Attend design team meetings and review proposals.
• Liaise with design team members (M&E, Public Health, Architects, clients).
• Contribute to design team meetings to ensure designs follow agreed fire strategies.
• Produce technical reports to support the design through approval processes.
• Undertake detailed fire engineering analyses including CFD and Evacuation.
• Communicate with Approving Authorities.
